LONG IMPORTANT AS AN EDUCATIONAL CENTER, THE LIBRARY HAS SINCE TAKEN ON A NEW ROLE AS A COMMUNITY CENTER. DESIGNED BY THE OKLAHOMA CITY FIRM OF HAWK AND PARR, THIS 1929 BUILDING WAS THE CULMINATION OF YEARS OF EFFORTS BY THE CITIZENS OF NORMAN TO ESTABLISH A FIRST CLASS PUBLIC LIBRARY. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 12/28/00.
